Rising in Sisterhood: The Transformative Power of Women Circles
I’m very passionate about facilitating sisterhood circles, especially over this past year. Not only have I been able to meet incredible women in my community, but I’ve also discovered there is a great need for circling. Women are consciously seeking out places where they feel seen, heard and nurtured.
I have found that although I live in a small town of 1200 people in Stevensville, Montana, and am an introvert, new and more women come to the sister circles month after month.
Circles are about holding space for women who may not have this support in their day to day lives. We, as women, are physiologically programmed to give so much to others often times forgetting our own needs. And circling gives a woman an opportunity to receive their fellow sisters in ways they may not have experienced before.
I’m inspired to share with you the lyrics of a beautiful song, Rose, by Ayla Shafer, whose lyrics may answer the question as to why women attend circles.
“Sisters holding hands,
In the circle we are felt,
Sisters holding hands,
In the circle we are strong.
Sisters holding hands,
In the circle we remember.
Sisters holding hands,
In the circle we belong.
Sisters holding hands
In the circle we are held.
We are like the rose,
We are stronger than we know.”
These gatherings broaden our ability to accept and cultivate understanding towards others. And when those abilities are tapped, an invitation towards one’s own path to self-acceptance and self- compassion widens.
But when the path to self-compassion can often feel like a solitary path, attending sister circles or in a retreat setting such as my Scotland retreat, the journey is a transformational collective experience.
Self-love grows when we can hear the stories of others. Her struggles are my struggles. Her sadness and happiness are mine too.
In the stillness of the Scottish Highlands, in the echoes of ancient wisdom and the sweet embrace of nature, women on this retreat had an opportunity for a personal renaissance.
But what happens during a sister circle?
One way is through carefully crafted meditations. In the Radiant Woman Rising retreat, I assist women to release the grip of perfectionism, diminish the symptoms of menopause and seek more self-acceptance. And in turn, each woman opened up the maze of their inner world, allowing them to discover and comfort the parts of themselves that needed their attention and healing.
Do you have a circle of women that welcomes you?
Would you want to be apart or create your own sisterhood circle?
I am in the process of collecting information to create an invite for you to join an ONLINE Sisterhood Circle.
With love,
Ranya

“Ranya does a wonderful job of creating a welcoming safe space for us to explore our divine feminine and connect deeper with the women in our community. As a space holder it is a wonderful support system for me I didn’t know I needed in my life.” -Ayla
“I was recently so fortunate to become a part of Ranya’s empathic essence circle. This experience was so fulfilling and I left feeling enlightened and loved by the community I was with that evening. Ranya’s guidance comes with so much warmth and powerful yet comforting energy.” -Caity
